In 1911 Arthur was not with his family. Wife Elizabeth Fruen, aged 27, born in Bedwyn Wilts, married 3 years, and son Douglas (2) of Bedwyn, were with [her aunt] Mary Ann Brockes and her family in Barking Essex.

GREAT BEDWYN.
DEATH OF MR. A. FRUEN.—Mr. Arthur John Fruen died at his home on Monday. He was born in Jubilee-street, and was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Fruen. Twenty-six years ago he married Miss Elizabeth Edwards, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Edwards, also of Bedwyn. Mr. Fruen was a platelayer on the G.W.R. at Bedwyn until his retirement last February. He had an illness three years ago, and never really recovered. On Monday he went out to the wood-house, where his wife a few minutes later found him prostrate, and he died almost immediately. Mr. Fruen was 56 years of age, leaves three sons. The eldest lives in Swindon, and the other two reside at Bedwyn. The funeral will take place to-morrow (Saturday).
