According to the 1900 U.S. Census entry, Henry H. Hicks immigrated to the U.S. in 1867. Ancestral File 46TG-Z2 shows Henry Holman Hicks born in Camborne, Cornwall, England. However, there is no entry in the 1861 Cornwall Census for a Henry or Harry Hicks born in Camborne in the early 1850s, nor is there an entry in the GROE Birth Index (Redruth district). It should be noted that Annie Maria Provis was born in Camborne and appears in the UK Censuses as well as in the GROE Birth Index (Redruth district, of which Camborne is part).

Henry married Annie Maria PROVIS, daughter of John PROVIS and Amelia PEARCE, on 6 May 1880 in Amador Co., CA, USA. (Annie Maria PROVIS was born on 15 Apr 1866 in Camborne, Cornwall and died on 25 Aug 1895 in Jackson, Amador, CA, USA.)
