In 1851 Mary Bate, aged 54, born in Tresmeer Cornwall, and husband Thomas Bate, aged 67, born in Egloskerry Cornwall, retired farmer, were living in Church Town, Tresmeer. Thomas's son William and his family were living nextdoor.
In 1861 Mary Bate, aged 63, born in Tresmeer Cornwall, widow, was living in Tresmeer. With her was grandson William Bate (8) of Tresmeer.
