Mary Hocking
- Born: Abt 1822
- Married: 25 Mar 1843, Warbstow, Cornwall 1
- Died: 19 May 1884, Terang, Victoria, Australia 2
Orthographic variation: HOCKINS
Research Notes:
Mary Corrie died aged 62 years (Vic BDM Death Index).
------------------------
Given Mary was a resident of Warbstow at the time of her marriage, it is reasonable to assume that her family hearked from that general area. A John Hockins married Elizabeth Pethick in Week St. Mary on 26 Nov 1801 and, while Mary may have been a younger daughter of this couple, there is no christening record to back this up. There does not seem to be a Mary Hocking (Hockins etc) living in Warbstow or in the nearby parishes at the time of the 1841 Census.
Marriage Information:
Mary married William Taylor Cory, son of William Cory of Coombe Lake and Margery Taylor, on 25 Mar 1843 in Warbstow, Cornwall 1. (William Taylor Cory was born in 1822 in Pethicks, Tremaine, Cornwall, christened on 3 Mar 1822 in Tremaine, Cornwall and died on 29 Apr 1890 in Terang, Victoria, Australia 3.)
