In 1841 Bennet Pryor, aged about 25, born in the county, tin miner, and wife Mary Pryor, aged about 25, born in the county, were living in Trevennen, Wendron. With them was son John (1).

FATAL MINE ACCIDENT.—On Saturday morning last, about five o'clock, a man called Bennett Pryor was at work in the shaft at the forty fathom level in Wheal Trumpet Consols mine, when by stepping on a rotten piece of wood it gave way, and he was precipitated to a depth of ten fathoms, he was taken up in a senseless state, but lingered until the following Wednesday; he has left a wife and six children to mourn his loss.

ACCIDENT.—A few days ago, as Bennet Pryor was engaged about the pitwork in the engine shaft, at Wheal Ann Mine, Wendron, a board on which he was standing snapped, and he was precipitated a depth of 19 fathoms; by which he sustained serious injury of the bowels and spine.
