In 1871, James Cock (36) of Gwithian, farmer of 26 acres employing 1 labourer, and wife Elizabeth (36) of Gwithian, were living in Pennance Gwithian. Present were children (born in Gwithian): Elizabeth P. (13), scholar, James (10), scholar, Margaret A. (9), scholar, Tregony [Gregory] (6), scholar, Bessie (5), scholar, William (2), Herbert (1), Henry (2m).
