John WEARNE

   Research Notes:

Another John Wearne, son of Nicholas, was born a year later. He married Ann Hodge in Constantine in 1688 and had a son Nicholas the following year in Wendron. John Wearne, son of Simon, as the only other John at this time, must have married Martha Tonken in 1683.

Some private entries to the IGI show children of John Wearne and Martha Tonken christened in the 1690s; however, these were children of John Wearne and Ann Hodge, as the original indexes show (the mother's name as Ann). There are no entries in the Wendron baptismal register between 1683 and 1689 for children of John Wearne.
