In 1881, Simon Jewell (20) of Crowan, estate labourer, unmarried, was boarding with Edward T. & Elizabeth J. Williams in Clowance, Crowan.
In 1891, Simon Jewell (30) of Jenkin's Bottom, ag. lab., and wife Bessie (31) of Breage, were living in Clowance Ballgate Cottage, Crowan. Present were daughters: Ada (8) & Laura (7), both born in Wheal Clowance, and Kate (6), born in Ball Gate Clowance, all scholars.
