In 1861 Benjamin Murley, aged 42, born in Hayle Cornwall, iron founder, and wife Jane Murley, aged 44, born in Limehouse Middlesex, were living in 5 Dorset Street, Landport, Hampshire. With them were son Benjamin* (19) of Limehouse, iron founder, his wife Mary A. (21) of Portsea Hants., their son Benjamin (3m) of Portsea.

* Son Benjamin was born several years before his parents were officially married.

In 1871 Benjamin Murley, aged 52, born in Phillack Cornwall, and wife Jane, aged 53, born in London, were living in Portsea, Hampshire.
