In 1861 Johnson Banfield, aged 37, born in Hayle Cornwall, married, mate, was on board the Great Conquest, Mersey River, Vessels, Lancashire. Wife Mary C Banfield, aged 34, born in Phillack Cornwall, married, was at 120 Radcliffe Street, Everton Lancashire.

In 1891 Johnson Banfield, aged 67, born in St. Earth Cornwall, master mariner, and wife Ann, aged 63, born in Huddesfield, were living at 25 Sussex St., Toxteth Park, Lancashire.
