At the time of the 1841 Scotland Census Marion Hyslop, aged about 25, and husband John Hyslop, aged about 25, agricultural labourer, were living in Bridgend of Montgorswood, Sorn. Present were children Marion (4), Alexander (6m).
At the time of the 1851 Scotland Census Marion Hyslop, aged 36, born in Kirkconnel, and husband John Hyslop, aged 36, born in Cumnock, labourer, were living in Damhead, Mauchline. Present were children: Alexander (10) of Mauchline, scholar, and born in Sorn: John (8), scholar, Agnes (6), Anne (2).
At the time of the 1861 Scotland Census Marion Hyslop, aged 47, born in Kirkmichael and husband John Hyslop, aged 48, born in Cumnock, tile maker, were living in Boghead, Lesmahagow, Lanark. Present were children (born in Mauchline): Annie (11), Jane (6), mother Marion Wilson (80) of Stewarton.
