In 1891, Charles Jenkin (26) of Wendron, tin miner, and wife Sarah (20) of Illogan, were living in Stithians Road, Wendron. With them was daughter Jane (1) of Wendron.
In1901, Charles Henry Jenkin (37) of Wendron, retired tin miner, and wife Sarah (29) of Illogan, post office keeper, were living at Post Office, Wendron. Present were children (born in Wendron): Jane (11), Willie (8), John Charles (6), Mary Ellen (2)

"In their village [of Four Lanes] the name of Jenkin will not be quickly forgotten, for old Charlie Jenkin, who died when he was 66, was in Wheal Basset Mine for 47 years, and down below there he was known as 'Lil Hen' for the way he looked after all the 14-year-old boys who went underground.
Both he, as gardener, and his wife as housekeeper, helped Canon W. R. Ladd Canney when he was vicar there years ago and Mrs. Ladd Canney was ill...." 3
