  Research Notes:

On 5 June, 11 Edward II. [1318], at the Proof of Age of Joan, wife of Thomas de Fornivall, younger daughter and one of the heirs of Theobald de Verdun, William de Sibeton gave his age as 44, saying that the said Joan was born at Wotton (in co. Salop), was 14 years of age on 9 August last; and knows it because John de Sibeton, his brother, granted ½ virgate of land to Adam de Sibeton for 14 years at the feast of the Assumption following in the same year, and now it has come to his own hands as heir of the said John. 1

In the Nomina Villarum of 1316 William de Sibbeton is enrolled as Lord of Wistanstow and Sibton, though in the latter instance Siweton is given as the name of the vill and its Lord.

In the Nomina Villarum of 1316, William de Sibbeton is enrolled as sole Lord of Wistanstow ; but it was still only a moiety of the Manor which was thus held. 2
