The Chronicle of Tintern Abbey, Monmouthshire names "Petro de Genyvile" as brother of "Gaufrido Genyvile", son and heir of "Gaufrido de Genyvyle" and his wife "Matilda Lacy". An order dated 16 Jan 1283 records "recognizance by Geofferey de Geneville, Matilda his wife and Peter their eldest son" to "William de Valence" for the commission of lands of “Maurice FitzGerald in Ireland, deceased” and for the marriage of “Gerald son and heir of the said Maurice, under age, and in custody of the said William”.

[HEREFORD.] Inq. taken at Ewyas Lacy on Sunday before St. Kenelm the King, 20 Edw. I.
Walterston within the liberty of Ewyas. The manor with 2½ carucates of land (extent given), including a custom called ' kylch,' and honey in the forests, held of Geoffrey de Genevile his father and Maud his wife, who hold of the king in chief, service unknown.
His daughters, Joan aged 6, Beatrice aged 5, and Maud aged one year, are his next heirs.
SALOP. Inq. made at Lodelawe on Thursday before St. Margaret, 20 Edw. I.
Staunton Lacy. The manor (extent given), including a fishpond, held by the said Peter and Joan his wife, of the aforesaid Sir Geoffrey and Maud by knight's service, who hold the same of the king in chief by service of 2½ knights for the said manor and all other lands in England.
Lodelowe. The castle &c. (extent given), including toll of the town and fair, and all the knights' fees which the said Geoffrey and Maud had in England, and the whole share of rent from their pourparty.
Heirs as above, Joan aged 6 at the Purification, Beatrice aged 5 this year, and Maud aged one year at the feast of St. Dominic next.

Malmeshull. The manor (extent given) held by the said Peter and
