In 15 Hen. III [1231] by a Fine levied between Gilbert de Segrave and Annabil his wife, plaintiffs, and Robert de Chaucombe, deforciant, the said Robert having given her the said Annabil, his eldest daughter, in marriage to the same Gilbert; and Milicent, the other daughter, to Raph Basset, settled his lands lying in the counties of Northampton, Warwick, Leicester and Lincoln so as if he should fortune to have any other heir besides them two, the said Gilbert and Annabil, and the heirs of Annabil, to enjoy the moitie only of this Mannour of Aspele, and the other moitie to go unto the said Raph Basset, and Milicent, and the heirs of Milicent for ever. 2

Whereas the king lately presented Master Geoffrey Haspall clerk to the church of Staunton, in the king's gift by reason of the lands of Nicholas de Segrave being in his hands, and it is now testified before the king that the presentation thereto belongs to Roger de Sumery who married Amabel the mother of the said Nicholas, by reason of her dower as her share of the advowsons of churches belonging to Gilbert de Segrave sometime her husband; and whereas the said Roger, at the king's instance, gave his assent in the king's presence to the said presentation; that king grants that his presentation shall not to be to the prejudice of the said Roger and Amabel in future voidances.

To Master Richard de Clifford, escheator this side Trent. Order to deliver to Amabilla, late the wife of Roger de Somery, tenant in chief, Roger's manor of Bradefeud, which the king committed to her in tenancy as of the value of 100l. of land yearly, when she was seeking her dower in his court. If the manor be not worth 100l. yearly, the escheator is ordered to assign to her was is lacking of that sum in a suitable place without the parks and chaces.
