The Continuator of Florence of Worcester records that Richard I King of England arranged the marriage of "Willelmus comes Saresberiensis filius comitis Patricii…filiam" and "Wilelmo fratri suo notho cum comitatu" in [1196].
She succeeded her father in 1196 as Ctss of Salisbury, suo iuris. “Ela comitissa Sarr.” founded Henton Priory, Somerset, for the soul of “comitis Willielmi patris mei”, by undated charter. She founded Lacock Abbey, Wiltshire in 1229, where she became a nun 1238. Abbess of Lacock 1240-1257. 1
