The Red Book of the Exchequer, listing scutage payments in [1190/91], records "Robertus de Lascy" paying "xxi l xvii s vi d" in Yorkshire. A manuscript history of the Lacy family names “Robertus” as the son of “Henricus Lacy” and his wife “sororem Willielmi Vesci rectoris de Berwic”, adding that he died “1193 XII Kal Sep” and was buried “apud Kirkstall”. 1
