Order to John de Estbury, escheator in the county of Berks, to deliver to Fulk de Pembrugge and Margaret his wife, daughter and heir of William Trussell of Cublesdon, 'chivaler,' who held in chief, the lands late of the said William; as the king has taken Fulk's fealty.

Whereas the manor of Eton Hastyngs, which the king had of the gift and feoffment of John de Sancto Philberto, knight, deceased, and afterwards granted in fee to William Trussell, 'chivaler,' in exchange for certain lands in Wynkefeld, Bray, Fole Johan and Old Wyndesore, co. Berks, and Eton by the castle of Wyndesore, co. Buckingham, to pass, after the death of the said William, to Margaret his daughter and heir, wife of Fulk de Pembrugg, has now come into the hands of the said Fulk and Margaret; the king, for their security in the said manor, has pardoned them all actions for debts which he might have against them as tenants, by pretext of a recognisance wherein the said John was bound to the king in 3,000l., and any other sums owed to the king by the said John during his lifetime.

Licence, for 60l. paid to the king by William Trussel of Cublesdon, 'chivaler,' for Fulk de Penbrugg, 'chivaler,' and Margaret his wife, to enfeoff him of their manors of Eton Hastynges and Sottesbrok with the advowsons of the church of the manor of Eton and of the chantries in the church of Sottesbrok, held in chief, and for him to grant the manor of Eton and the advowson of the church thereof to Fulk and Margaret in tail, and the manor of Sottesbrok and the advowsons of the said chantries to the said Margaret and her heirs by Fulk, with reversions of both parcels to William and his heirs.

Licence, on the supplication of Hugh de Segrave, the late king having granted a third of the manor of Kempston, co. Bedford, called 'Bruysbury,' to William Trussell, knight, in fee tail, and his daughter and heir, Margaret, who married Fulk Pembrugge, knight, having on her father's death entered thereon, for her and Fulk to grant all their estate therein to the said Hugh, to whom thereupon the king further grants an estate therein in fee simple.

Order to Thomas Gloucestre, escheator in the county of Berks,—pursuant to an inquisition made by him, showing that Margaret late the wife of Fulk de Penbrugge, knight, held in her demesne as of fee on the day of her death (1) the manor of Shottesbrok, co. Berks, and the advowson of the college there, the manor being held of the king, as of the king's castle of Wyndesore, by service of rendering to the king yearly at Michaelmas a pair of gilt spurs, or 3s. 4d., for all services; (2) 50 acres of land in Benetfeld, called 'Le Hethynnynges,' of the king as of the king's manor of Cookham, which is ancient demesne of the crown of England; (3) a messuage and two virgates of land in Waltham Seynt Laurens, of another than the king; and that William the son of Laurence Trussell son of Warin brother of William Trusell Margaret's father, is her kinsman and next heir, and 14 years of age,—to take William's fealty and cause him to have full seisin of the premises held of the king, removing the king's hand from the remaining premises, if they are in the king's hand for no other reason than Margaret's death, and delivering to the said William any issues taken therefrom.
