In 1881 John George, aged 14, born in Llantwit Glamorgan, farm labourer, was with his widowed mother and sister Margaret in Boverton, Llanwit Major, Glamorgan.

In 1891 John George, aged 25, born in Llantwit Glamorgan, single, builder, was with his brother Thomas George and his family at 26 Dean Street, Swindon Wiltshire England.

In 1901 John George, aged 34, born in Llantwit Major Glamorganshire, builder, and wife Emma George, aged 33, born in Maesteg Glamorganshire, were living at 71 Eastcott Hill, Swindon Wiltshire England. With them were sons (born in Swindon) Alfred (8), Bernard (7) and Albert (4).

In 1911 John George, aged 44, born in Llantwit Major Glamorgan, retired builder, and wife of 19 years Emma George, aged 42, born in Maesteg Glamorgan (mother of 3 children), were living at 169 Victoria Rd, Swindon Wiltshire. With them were sons Alfred (18), part-time student, Bernard (17), part-time student, and Albert (14), student.

In September 1915 John George, builder, was granted Probate of the personal effects of his late brother Thomas George of Swindon.

In the 1939 Register John George (b. 12 Aug 1866), master builder (retired) and wife Emma George (b. 14 Nov 1868), unpaid domestic duties, were living in Addison Gardens, West Holland Park, Kensington And Chelsea, London. At the same address was [son] Alfred George (b. 8 Dec 1892), wholesale wine merchant's clerk.
