Eldest son Richard Roach Jewell was buried on 16 Apr 1848 in Hornchurch Essex, aged 16 months.
In 1851 Eliza J Jewell, aged 24, born in Cardiff Glamorgan, and husband Richard R Jewell, aged 41, born in Barnstaple Devon, carpenter, were living in Rowlands Castle Idsworth Hampshire. With them were children John A (3) of Hornchurch Essex, Mary Ann A (1) of Alverstoke Hants, and Eliza Jane (3 weeks) of Rowlands Castle.
Arrived in Australia per the vessel Will Watch on 24 Feb 1852.
