In 1291... Joan complained that the escheator seised Plechedon (in Henham), Essex and Great Thurlow, Suffolk for the crown, though she and her late husband were joint feoffees thereof. Joan was living in 1302. 1

Writ of plenius certiorari on the complaint of Joan late the wife of Gilbert Pecche that the manors of Great Trillawe and Plechedon whereof she was enfeoffed jointly with her late husband had been unjustly taken into the king's hand, 11 December, 20 Edw. I. [1291]
[ESSEX.] Inq. made at Huggele, 18 January, 20 Edw. I.
Plechedene. The said Gilbert enfeoffed John his son and heir of the manor at the feast of St. Hilary, 2 Edw. I, who afterwards enfeoffed the said Gilbert and Joan his wife to hold to them and the heirs of their bodies : and so they remained in seisin until the said Gilbert's death.
The manor is held in chief of Lady Denise de Monte Caniso sometime the wife of Warin de Monte Caniso.
