Hannibal Blewett of Marazion died aged 51 years (burial record).
-------------------------
April 8*, at Marazion, Cornwall, after four days illness, Hannibal Curnow Blewett, Esq. aged 51. Mr. Blewett's death is justly regarded as a calamity by the poor of Marazion and its neighbourhood, to whom he was a most liberal and unostentatious benefactor. In addition to his numerous charities, he kept a dispensary in his house, where the poor were gratuitously supplied with medicine, in the administration of which he had acquired considerable skill. During the winter season he usually supplied the poor of Marazion with soup, &c. in considerable quantities ; and in the fishing season, he not only gave them a quantity of pilchards from those taken by his own means, but provided them with salt to cure them. About 30 years since, Mr. Blewett failed in business at Penzance ; but afterwards having retrieved his losses, he paid his creditors that part of their demands which they had previously relinquished.
