In 1605 Charles Wiseman was sole executor and residuary legatee of his father's will.

Charles Wiseman was Sheriff of Berkshire in 1612.

In 1625 Charles Wiseman and his wife Mary adminstered to the will of Mary's brother-in-law John Blacknall of Abingdon during the minority of the heirs.

Abstract of the Will of Charles Wiseman of Steventon in the County of Berks, Knight, written 20 Oct 1633, proved 5 Nov 1635. 6

To be buried in the Church of Steventon near the bodies of his parents.

Gives 4 pence to the Mother Church of Sarum.

Gives 20 shillings to the Church of Steventon.

Gives 40 shillings to the poor of Steventon.

Whereas in order to provide reasonable legacies for his daughters and younger sons, and to support them during their respective minorities, he has by deed dated 1 May 1625 granted to his friends John Fettiplace of Childrey in co. Berks, Esquire, Francis Keate of Westlocking in co. Berks, and James Heron of Abingdon in co. Berks, gent, his farm and lease for three lives of the Scrite of the Manor of Steventon, with all associated lands, tenements and hereditaments, rents and profits, to hold in trust.

With the exception of his daughters Mary, Anne and Judith, to whom he has already paid their marriage portions, he gives £500 each to his daughters and younger sons, to be paid to them when they turn twenty-one. The residue of the rents, issues and profits of the said leases is to remain with his son and heir, once he reaches the age of twenty-one years. In the meantime Mary his wife is to maintain him during her life, and if she should die, then his son and heir will enter the wardship of his said friend and cousin John Fettiplace, Esquire.

All the rest of his goods, chattels, household stuff, plate, jewells and other things, he gives to his wife Mary, appointing her sole executrix of his last will and testament.

Nominates his friend John Tudball of Chilleswell in co. Berks, Esquire, and his cousin John Southbye of Caswell in co. Berks, Esquire, overseers of his last will and testament.

Charles also married Mary Blagrave, daughter of Anthony Blagrave of Sonning, Esq. and Jane Borlase, on 29 Nov 1611 in St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, England. (Mary Blagrave was born about 1589 in Sonning, Berkshire, England and died after 1635.)
