In 1622 Richard Lybbe was one of the overseers and a witness to the will of his friend Richard Applebee of Whitchurch.
In 1623 Richard Libb, Esquire, was one of the overseers of the will of his friend Leonard Keate of Checkendon in co. Oxon. Richard's son, Anthony, married Leonard's daughter, Mary, in 1639.

Indenture of an agreement between Leonard Keate of Checkendon, Oxfordshire, esquire, on the one part, and John Fettiplace of Swinbrook, Oxfordshire, esquire, and Richard Libbe of Hardwick, Oxfordshire, esquire, on the other part, concerning the manor of Checkendon, Oxfordshire, to the use of Dorothy, Leonard's wife to increase the jointure on Dorothy as agreed in an indenture tripartite dated 22 October 1619, and the house, garden and orchard called the 'Hermitage' and land called 'Frize' [details specified] in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, to the use of John Keate, Leonard's brother, and other lands and tenements in Checkendon, Little Stoke and Kidlington, Oxfordshire [details specified] to the use of John Keate, Charnell Petty, esquire, and Thomas Doe, gentleman. On a white marble tablet, supported with black Ionic pilasters, on the north wall of Whitchurch Church is the following inscription:
Richard Lybbe of Hardwick Esqr. and Anne

Abstract of the Will of Richard Lybbe of Hardwicke in the County of Oxford, Esquire, written 6 Feb 1654/5, proved 17 Nov 1658. 6
To be interred in the chancel of Whitchurch in the county of Oxford.
Gives 40 shillings each to the poor of the parishes of Whitchurch, Goring, Chekenden and St. Mary's in Reading.
Gives 20 shillings each to the poor of Mapledurham, Ruely? and Ramp--------.
Gives to his son John Lybbe his lands in Northstoke in co. Oxon.
Gives to his nephew John Norden of Radbury in co. Wilts his lands in Checkenden in co. Oxon called Katernage . . . . . . . ., and also his lands in Southstoke in co. Oxon called Northgrove, consisting of about twelve acres, in trust, to sell in order to pay the testator's debts.
From the remainder of the above sale he gives £100 each to the two sons of his daughter Anne, to be paid to them when they turn twenty-one.
Gives one featherbed to his son John Lybbe.
Gives one featherbed to his daughter Mary Lybbe, as well as his lands and tenements in Easthampstead in co. Berks, which he has already settled on her by deed.
Gives 40 shillings each to his godchildren.
Gives 40 shillings to each of his son Anthony's children.
Gives 40 shillings to each of his daughter Jane's children.
Gives a year's wages to each of his servants over and above what is due to them.
Appoints his son Anthony Lybbe sole executor of his last will and testament.
