  Research Notes:

In 1851 Thomas E Blewett, aged 54, born in Sithney Cornwall, officer in the late African Colonial Company, and wife Amelia Blewett, aged 58, born in Mevagissey Cornwall, were living at 2 Prospect St., Charles the Martyr, Plymouth, Devon. With them were children (born in Newton Ferrers Devon) Samuel J. (23), railway clerk, George (22), merchant's clerk, Amelia E. (20), Thomas E. G. (16), Hannibal A. (14), scholar, and Charles H. (10), scholar.

In 1861 Thomas E Blewett, aged 66, born in St. Sitheny Cornwall, widower, pensioner, late R.A.C.S., was living at 13 Radnor St., Charles the Martyr, Plymouth, Devon. With him were children (born in Newton Ferrers) Amelia E. (30) and Charles H. (20), scholar.

(Amelia Brokensha was christened 24 May 1801 in Mevagissey, Cornwall and was buried on 19 Nov 1852 in St. Charles The Martyr, Plymouth, Devonshire, England, aged 52 years.)

  Marriage Notes:

Appeared personally Thomas Edwards Blewett of the late African Companys Service, now of the parish of Charles in Plymouth of Devon, bachelor, of the age of twenty-one years and upwards, and prayed a Licence for the solemnization of matrimony in the parish chapel of East Stonehouse in the county of Devon aforesaid, between him and Amelia Brokensha of the parish of East Stonehouse in the county of Devon aforesaid, a spinster of the age of twenty-one years and upwards.

Licence issued 14 Mar 1826.
