BRAY.—Feb. 13, at Union-street, Camborne, much respected, Mr. William Bray, a native of Camborne, and a Bible-christian local-preacher : one who had spent 36 years in South Australia.
A MUCH ESTEEMED Cambornian, Mr. William Bray, passed away on Saturday at an advanced age (for a miner.) Deceased, when a Bible-christian local-preacher at Camborne, some 42 years ago, left, with his wife, for Australia, where he laboured in the Wallaroo mines and thereabout for 36 years. Here they made many friends. After being away such a long time the aged couple, having no family, started for home again, to see who remained of relatives and associates, and to recruit, if possible, their health. Remaining at Camborne for about two years they journeyed a second time to the Antipodes and, shortly after their arrival, Mrs. Bray passed out of this life, honoured by many. She was not buried long before the old man bade his colonial friends a last good-bye. Senile decay had taken a too-deep root in him for his native air to restore him to robust health, and, in about two years, he also departed this life, nursed by those belonging to him. The pulpit at the B.C. chapel, on Sunday, was draped in black out of respect for deceased.
