OLD RESIDENT'S DEATH
One of Penryn's oldest and best-known inhabitants, Mr. James Medlin, aged 79, of 95, West-street, died, on Sunday. When Penryn was prominent as a cattle importing centre, he was in charge of important work at the cattle lairs, and during the war he took part in salvaging operations. At the funeral at St. Gluvias Cemetery, yesterday, the Rev. E. H. Shore (vicar) officiated. The mourners were Mesdames W. Pellow, H. McMinn, J. Webber, W. G. Roseveare, and E. Reany (daughters), Mr. W. Medlin (son), Mr. T. Pellow (grandson), Messrs. J. Timmins, A., H., and S. Thomas (nephews), Mrs. W. Medlin (daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. N. Thomas (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), and Mr. and Mrs. T. Williams, Australia (friends). The widow and Mrs. C. Moore, Northants (daughter), were unable to attend. Deceased also leaves two sons, Messrs. N. and F. Medlin, in Australia.
