Abstract of the Will of James Keigwin of Mousehole in the County of Cornwall, Esquire, written 1 Feb 1734/5, proved 18 Jul 1741. 4
To be buried in the church of Paul in the same vault as his deceased wife.
Gives 20 shillings each to forty poor people of the parish of Paul.
Gives £10 each to his sister Julyan the wife of Thos. Clutterbuck, his sister Margret the wife of Christopher Davies, his sister Mary the wife of William John, his sister Dorothy the wife of John Borlase, his sister Sarah and his sister Rachell the wife of Thos. Roberts.
Gives £200 to be divided equally between the children of his brother-in-law Christopher Davies by Margret his sister, to be paid to them when the each turn twenty-one.
Gives £100 to William John the son of William John of Penzance, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-one.
Gives £300 to Mrs. Gartrude Trewinnard, his current housekeeper, as well as his linen clothing.
Gives £20 to his servant Thomas John and £10 to his servant Robert Harvey the son of John Harvey. He gives them both his woollen clothing, share and share alike.
Gives to each of his other servants a year's wages over and above what is due to them.
Gives and devises his manors, messuages, bartons, farms, lands, tenements & hereditaments to William Arundell of Trengwainton in co. Cornwall, Esqr, the Reverend Walter Borlase, Doctor of Law, Vicar of the parish of Madderne [Madron] in the said county, and George Borlase of the town of Penzance, Gent., in trust, to raise the funds to pay his debts and legacies, and for the benefit of his brothers George Keigwin and John Keigwin and their heirs male. In default of such issue, then to his sisters Julyan the wife of Mr. Thomas Clutterbuck, Margarett the wife of Mr. Christopher Davies, Mary the wife of Mr. William John, Dorothy the wife of Mr. John Borlase, Sarah Keigwin and Rachell the wife of Mr. Thomas Roberts.
Appoints his brothers George Keigwin and John Keigwin co-executors of his last will and testament.
