In 1871 Aaron Waite (20) of Benniworth, single, was working as a farm servant in Stenigot.

In 1875, shortly after his marriage, Aaron and wife Maria emigrated to the USA.

In 1900 Aaron Waite (48) of England, farmer, and wife of 25 years Myra [sic] (46) of England, were living in Du Page, Will, Illinois. Present were children (born in Illinois): Lizzie (24), Charles (21), Fred (19), Nellie (16), Arthur (14), Alfred (14)

In 1910 Aaron Waite (59) of England, farmer, and wife Maria (57) of England, were living in Du Page, Will, Illinois, USA. Present were children (born in Illinois): Charles (31), farm labourer, Nellie (28), school teacher, Alfred (24), farm labourer

Obituary

AARON WAITE
Mr. Aaron Waite was born January 1, 1851, in Lincolnshire, England. He was married May 16, 1875, to Miss Maria Johnson, also of England. To them were born five sons and two daughters - Elizabeth, George, Charles, Helen, Fred, Arthur and Alfred - all of whom still survive.
In May, 1875, soon after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Waite came to America and settled in DuPage Township, Will County, where they have resided ever since.
On Sunday evening, July 2, 1911, at midnight, the beloved husband and father of this home passed over into the Spirit land, aged 60 years, 6 months, 1 day. The deceased had not been in good health since last April, but was able to work until two weeks before his passing away.
Mr. Waite was a man of fine Christian character, ever bearing in his walk and conversation the spirit of Christ. It was farthest from him to do a wrong act intentionally or to injure anyone. He practiced only the spirit of kindness and gentleness in his home and among his neighbors.
He was an interesting conversationalist - a man of thought. And while he had ideas of his own and was true to his convictions he was always open to the truth and ready to yield a point when once convinced, and knew how to do it gracefully.
Being a man of high and noble purpose he chose to talk about the high and noble things of life. If "the pure in heart see God" this man must have had the vision of the Holy One, for mean and low thoughts had no place in his heart.
Mr. Waite was a man that found real enjoyment in living. He was always happy and cheerful. He was a hard worker but he liked to work.
The close of such a life might be expected to be sweet and beautiful and so it was. There was not a murmur or a sigh. There was no chafing under the intense pain he suffered. There was no wavering of faith as he drew near the brink. "God had been good to me," he said, "and this affliction is for some good purpose. The Saviour is very precious to me now. I only wish I had been more zealous in the work of His kingdom. I am ready to go."
Well might the wife and children feel keenly the loss of such a father and the community such a friend and neighbor. But his spirit and his influence is not lost to his friends and loved ones. These still abide and live on to bless the world.
The funeral services were held at the Waite home on Wednesday, July 5 at 1:30 o'clock p.m. Pastor McNutt of the DuPage Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was a consistent member, spoke words of comfort from John 5:24. Mrs. McNutt sang "Come Unto Me," and a quartette consisting Margaret Wightman, Frank Huke and Mr. and Mrs. McNutt also helped in the ministry of song. Esther Huke presided at the piano.
The burial took place in the Alexander cemetery.
