SEARS, Stephen W. - Of Clio, age 93, died Sunday, January 9, 2000 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Robert Bolander officiating. Burial in Thetford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. A masonic memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mr. Sears, may be made to Thetford Center United Methodist Church. Mr. Sears was born August 8, 1906 in Clio, Michigan to the late Oscar and Livina (Tinney) Sears. He was a lifelong resident of Clio. Stephen married Louise Burgess December 20, 1924. She preceded him in death January 13, 1979. Mr. Sears worked as a dairy farmer his entire life. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was a former Thetford Township Constable, Clerk and Supervisor. He was a member of the Thetford Grange, the Genesee County Board of Supervisors and served on the board of directors at Crossroads Village. Mr. Sears was also a member of the Thetford Center United Methodist Church, the Clio Masonic Lodge #205 F&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Sears was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wilma; brother, Clinton; and sisters, Thelma and Evelyn. ⁴

Stephen married Louise L. BURGESS, daughter of Richard BURGESS and Louise MALLORY, on 20 Dec 1924 in Flint, Genesee Co., MI, USA ¹. (Louise L. BURGESS was born on 22 Jul 1906 in Michigan, USA, died on 13 Jan 1979 in Flint, Genesee, MI, USA and was buried in Thetford Township Cemetery, Clio, Genesee, MI, USA ³.)
