Stephanie of Nablus

  • Died: After 3 Jul 1155

   General Notes:

The Lignages d'Outremer state that "madame Estefenie esteit flamengue" and that "son baron aveit nom Gui le Franceis". According to the Lignages, she married "mesire Baudoyn" after the death of Guy. However, the date of the marriage of their daughter Helvis suggests that Baudouin was Stephanie's first husband. If this is correct, the couple must have been divorced as Baudouin's death is recorded after that of Guy de Milly. Her relationship with the Ibelin family, and her first marriage, is suggested by the charter dated 14 Jan 1155 which names "Philippi…Neapolitani, Guidonis Francigene, Henrici Bubali" as "avunculorum" of "Hugo de Hybelino et…fratris sui Balduini…". 1148. "Amalricus comes Ascalonitanus" confirmed a donation to St Lazare by "Philippus Neapolitanus", with the consent of "Ysabel uxore, Stephania matre, Rainerio filio, Helena et Stephania filiabus, Guidone Francigena et Henrico Bubalo fratribus", by charter dated 3 Jul 1155.
