-------------------------

The many friends of the late Mrs. E. R. Drury were very sorry to hear of her death, which took place on Monday last at her residence, Elidon Hill Brisbane. Mrs. Drury was the wife of the late Mr. E. R. Drury, manager of the Queensland National Bank, and leaves a family of eight—four sons, Messrs. Bertie and Willie, who are in England ; Arthur and Noel in Brisbane ; and four daughters, the eldest of whom is Mrs. Saltmarsh, of Esk, and the Misses Evie, Nesta, and Audrey. Mrs. Drury's two sisters are Mrs. Hunt and Mrs. G. Harding, of Bowen Terrace. Mrs. Drury was Miss Barbara Graham, who lived most of her life with Mr. and Mrs. Buckley on Bowen Terrace. Mrs. Drury was very much beloved, and she has always been noted for her charming manner, and for many years was one of Brisbane's leading hostesses ; but after Mr. Drury's death she lived very quietly. Mrs. Drury was a devoted mother to her children, and the deepest sympathy is felt for them in their sad loss. The interment took place at Toowong Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Thomas Jones, a very old friend of the family, reading the service. A number of relatives and friends were present. Some very beautiful tributes of loving affection and sympathy were laid upon the grave.

Queensland Figaro, Thursday, 17 Jan 1907.
