In 1881 Mary A. Holman (28) of Caenby* and husband George Holman (28) of Heighington, labourer in iron works, were living at 15 Featherby Place, Lincoln St Botolph. Present were sons William (4), scholar, Frank (2), both of Lincoln.
* Mary's younger siblings were born in Caenby. Grentham is a village alongside.
In 1891 Mary A. Holman (36) of Caenby and husband George Holman (36) of Heighington, boiler maker, were living at Sincil Terrace, Little Bargate Street, Lincoln. Present were children (born in Lincoln): William (14), boiler maker apprentice, Frank (12), port errand boy, Annie (9), scholar, Thomas (4), Fanny E. (1)
In 1911 Mary Ann Holman (58) and husband George Holman (56), boiler maker, were living at 8 Otters Cottages Newark Road Lincoln. Present were children William (34), blacksmith striker, Frank (32), married, plainer, [and his wife] Annie (29)*, Tom (25), crane driver, married, [and his wife] Fanny (22)*, George (16), boiler maker
* There is some confusion here as Annie and Fanny were Frank and Thomas's sisters, though Frank, Thomas, Annie and Fanny were all married by this time—Frank to Frances Maplethorpe, Thomas to Ethel Hallam, Annie to Arthur Cliffe and Fanny to John Stone(s). While shown with their parents Frank and Annie also appear separately with their respective families.
