Obituary
She was born Nov. 12, 1904, in Richland Center, to the late Charles R. and Clara (Vogel) Thomson. She received her elementary and high school education in Richland Center. She then attended Lawrence College in Appleton and received her bachelor of arts and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also did graduate work at the University of California in 1928. She then taught school in Westby and Lake Mills. She held a life teaching certificate in Wisconsin.
She was married to Robert W. Nisbet June 27, 1929, in Springfield, MO. He died Jan. 10, 1981.
After her marriage, she and her husband resided in Benton County, Ark. Her husband was associated with the Armour Co., and she continued teaching. They later lived in Chicago for a short time. They moved to Marshfield in 1932, where her husband was plant manager for the Armour Co. until retirement in 1971. Durng the late 1940s and early 1950s, she taught in schools in the Stratford and Auburndale school systems. After the death of her husband, she continued to reside in Marshfield until the time of her death. She had been admitted to the hospital Aug. 20.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Dorcas Circle and was a former superintendent of the church Sunday School. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a 50-year member of the P.E.O. and was active in church and community organizations for many years. She was a member of the Marshfield Board of Education for several terms from 1946-53.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Charles T. Nisbet of Olympia, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. James L. (Suzanne) Noyes Jr. of North Easton, Mass.; and five grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by one sister, Mrs. Helen T. Workinger. 3
