"Trooper Robert Henry Lambie, who has been killed while fighting at El Rumani (Egypt), was the youngest son of Mrs J. Lambie and of the late John Lambie (late chairman of the Ashburton County Council), of Kyle. He was 29 years of age, and attached to the Mounted Corps. Prior to enlisting, Trooper Lambie was engaged in farming pursuits in the County." ³
