Jefferson County resident Margaret A. MacDonald died in Kah Tai Care Center, Port Townsend, of age-related causes. She was 96.
The daughter of Hugh and Ann (Richmond) Nisbet, she was born in Port Townsend and grew up on the Nisbet family farm on West Valley Road in Chimacum.
She graduated from Chimacum High School. After attending business college in Seattle, she was an accountant for the Lang Co. in Seattle.
At her retirement, she was presented with a new Cadillac.
Although Mrs. MacDonald resided in Washington and Arizona, she always referred to herself as a "Chimacum gal."
In addition to being an advocate of education and a sports enthusiast, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading.
Memberships included the Order of Eastern Star and the Episcopal Church.
Husband Dennis Shaw preceded her in death.
She also married William MacDonald in Seattle on Nov. 23, 1946; he died Oct. 7, 1998.
Mrs. MacDonald's survivors include son and daughter-in-law Jim and Gerri Shaw, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Denny Shaw; brothers and sisters-in-law John and Blanche Nisbet and Tom and Venus Nisbet, and sisters and brothers-in-law Marion and Art McLarney and Janette and Tom Hoy. 2
