Her parentage and second marriage are indicated by a charter dated 8 Oct 1271 which relates that Saarbrücken was the fief of the bishop of Metz, recording that "bone memorie Jacobus quondam Metensis episcopus" (son of Ferry II Duke of Lorraine) had enfeoffed "Lorettam relictam…neptem propriam" and that, on the death of the latter, "germane dicte Lorete…primogenita domina Mahout domina Montisfalconis" inherited the castle[580].
