Named as a beneficiary in the Will of her brother John Thurnelo of Langton by Horncastle (1703/4)

The Thurneloe (Thurnelo, Thurnello, Thurnelow, Thurneloy, Thornelay) family lived in Langton by Horncastle throughout the 1600s. Mary Thurneloe, married in Langton by Horncastle, was probably also born there. Without access to the parish register for Langton by Horncastle for the period spanning the mid-1600s one can only speculate; however, from the IGI an Elizabeth Thurnelo was born in Langton by Horncastle in 1664 though no parents are given. If this were a sister of Mary then their father was likely to have been a son of Edward Thurnello who had sons and daughters in Langton from 1617 over about a ten-year period. An inventory was taken on 17 Jun 1610 of Anne Thurnelowe of Langton by Horncastle, widow, who may have been Edward's mother.

Mary married John WAITE, son of Richard WAYTE and Mary, on 30 Jun 1685 in Langton by Horncastle, Lincolnshire, England. (John WAITE was born in 1667 in Brinkhill, Lincolnshire, England and was christened on 15 May 1667 in Brinkhill St. Phillip, Lincolnshire, England ¹.)
