   Research Notes:

"There passed away on Thursday last at the Cloncurry District Hospital after a long and painful illness Mr Peter Benson aged 81, father of Mrs. S. N. Johnson of Cloncurry and Mt. Isa with whom he resided for some years, The funeral took place from the Presbyterian Church and was largely attended, the Rev T. Hall reading the burial service. A Mrs Lloyd is also a daughter. Deceased's wife pre-deceased him some years ago."

"A very old identity of this and the Charters Towers district passed away in the Cloncurry Hospital on Thursday last in the person of Mr. Peter Benson, aged 81 years. Deceased was the father of Mrs. S. Newman Johnson, whose husband was at one time a solicitor in Charters Towers, but has practised in Cloncurry and Mt. Isa for many years." ^{4 5}

(Agnes Gertrude MONTEITH was born on 8 Dec 1866 in Marlborough, Queensland, Australia ^{6 7} and died on 19 Mar 1930 in St. Martin's Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia ^{8 9}.)
