In 1851 John Evans (66) of Llanfair, farmer of 50 acres, and wife Margaret (58) of Llandanwg, were living in Tyddyn-rhyddid, Llanfair. Present were sons (born in Llanfair): Evan (28), Robert (24)

John married Margaret Lloyd, daughter of Robert Lloyd of Llechwedd-du and Eleanor Jones, on 19 Dec 1820 in Llanfair-juxta-Harlech, Merioneth, Wales. (Margaret Lloyd was christened on 13 Apr 1793 in Llandanwg, Merioneth, Wales and died in 1872 in Llanfair-juxta-Harlech, Merioneth, Wales, aged 79 years.)
