Will of Mary Benson late of Singleton, Hotelkeeper, written 20 Jun 1927, probate 27 Sep 1929.
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me MARY BENSON of Singleton in the State of New South Wales, Hotelkeeper. I appoint my son ALFRED JOHN BENSON and my brothers JAMES PETER ELLIOTT and ROBERT AUSTIN ELLIOTT to be executors and trustees of this my will. I GIVE AND DEVISE unto my brother JOHN OWEN ELLIOTT my house and land at Dunolly now occupied by him subject to any mortgage which shall be held on the security of my said property at the time of my death. I GIVE AND DEVISE AND BEQUEATH unto my said Trustees my hotel property known as the "Central" Hotel John Street Singleton UPON TRUST to sell the same as seen as the same conveniently may be sold after my decease and out of the proceeds of sale to pay all my just debts (excepting any such mortgage held on the security of the house and land hereinbefore devised to my said brother) and my funeral and testamentary expenses including Probate Duty and Federal Estate Duty payable on the whole of my estate and out of the balance of the proceeds of such sale to pay the following legacies (1) The sum of two thousand pounds (£2000) to my brother JAMES PETER ELLIOTT (2) The sum of one thousand pounds (£1000) to my sister SARAH ELLIOTT (3) The sum of five hundred pounds (£500) to my sister KATHERINE ELLIOTT (4) The sum of three hundred pounds (£300) to my brother THOMAS ALPHONSUS ELLIOTT (5) The sum of one hundred pounds (£100) to my brother JOSEPH EDMOND ELLIOTT (6) The sum of one hundred pounds to my brother ROBERT AUSTIN ELLIOTT (7) The sum of one hundred pounds to the Roman Catholic Church Singleton. I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATH the whole of the rest and residue of my real and personal estate of whatsoever nature wheresoever situate including the balance of the proceeds of sale of my said hotel property after payment thereout of the amounts herein provided for unto my son ALFRED JOHN BENSON absolutely I REVOKE all wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me at any time and declare this to be my last will and testament. IN WITNESS whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand this twentieth day of June in the year one thousand nine hundred and twenty seven. MARY BENSON [signed]

On this date, Probate of the last will of the above-named deceased was granted to Alfred John Benson of Singleton, Draughtsman, James Peter Elliott of Singleton, Hotel Manager and Robert Austin Elliott of Paddington, near Brisbane, Agent, the executors named the said will. Testatrix died on the 5th day of July in the year 1929. Estate sworn at £1447.12.7. Net. 7
