OBITUARY
"Mr. William Cambage On August 15th, at St. Margaret's Hospital, Cooroy, Mr. William Cambage passed away at the age of 79. Mr. Cambage. who had enjoyed good health throughout, his long life, suffered a heart attack on Monday night and died at noon on Wednesday. He hud recently returned from the Brisbane Exhibition, which he had attended annually since 1912. He was keenly interested in A.I.S. dairy cattle. The deceased was born at Milton (N.S Wales), and came to the Cooroy district 40 years ago to engage in dairying. During that period he had owned 13 different properties. He disposed of all his properties and lived in retirement. For 15 years he was a Shire Councillor, and for three years a director of the Wide Bay Dairy Association. He was a keen bowler, and had recently been presented with a veteran's badge. He was to have made one of a rink to contest the "fours" at Cooroy Bowling Club on Sunday. The late Mr. Cambage was one of a family of nine, all ot whom predeceased him. His wife, who was Miss Jessie Kennedy, died in 1941. Surviving him are two sons, Messrs. W. D. Cambage and J. F. Cambage, and nine daughters, Mesdames W. M. McGrath (Cooroy). J. W. Friske (Gympie). E. W. Bourke (Brisbane), S. Marshall (Brisbane), H. McTaggart (Brisbane). A. S. Anderson (Biloela), A. N. Duke (Eumundl), P. W. Frazer (Cooroy) and Miss Marjorie Cambage (Cooroy)." 4
