In 1881 Frederick Lewis, aged 17, born in Purton Wilts, ag. laborer, was with his mother and stepfather in Pevenhill, Purton.

In 1891 Frederick Lewis, aged 27, born in Purton Wilts, railway porter, and wife Elizabeth*, aged 25, born in Hambleton Wilts, were living at 117 York Rd., St. Pancras London.

* Frederick married 'Eliza' shortly before the 1891 Census who, according to later censuses, was born in Pembroke Wales.

In 1901 Frederick Lewis, aged 37, born in Purton Wiltshire, railway shunter, and wife Eliza, aged 33, born in Pembroke Pembrokeshire, were living at 42 Bride Street, Islington London. With them were children (born in Islington) Daisy (8), Edith (5) and Florence (4).

In 1911 Fredrick Lewis, aged 46, born in Purton Wiltshire, shunter G. N. Railway, and wife of 20 years Eliza, aged 42, born in Pembroke S Wales (mother of 4 children, 1 deceased), were living at 13 Bride Street, Barnsbury, Islington, London. With them were daughters (born in Islington) Edith (15), domestic nursemaid, and Florance (14), school.

In August 1917 Frederick Lewis was present at the marriage of his daughter Edith Maud Lewis to Thomas William Spicer in Islington.

In the 1939 Register Frederick Lewis (b. 12 Jul 1863), widowed, retired railroad shunter, was with his daughter Edith M Spicer and her family at 52 Wolsey Grove, Mill Hill, Middlesex.

Frederick married Eliza Lewis, daughter of John Lewis, on 31 Jan 1891 in St. Anne's Church, Wandsworth, Surrey, England. (Eliza Lewis was born about 1870 in Pembroke, Wales and was buried on 12 Jan 1937 in Hendon Cemetery, Islington, London, England, aged 67 years.)
