Marriage Notes:
"McKAY EDWARDS
Very great interest was taken by a large circle of city and country friends in the marriage which took place in St Canice's Church Darlinghurst Sydney, on Wednesday, evening June 15.
The bride was Miss Florence Mary Edwards, second daughter of Mr. Harry Edwards of 7 Waratah Street, Rushcutter's Bay, and Mr. John Beverley McKay, eldest son of the late Mr. John McKay " The Overflow " Warren.
The Church was decorated with quantities of white and pale pink flowers, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Bartlett.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely, gown of white georgette, handsomely embroidered with pearls and silver. A large white taffeta bow, edged with silver, made a smart finish. A train of white georgette lined with silver fell from her shoulders and a cut tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. Hyacinths and roses formed her bouquet. Miss Ena Edwards (the bride's sister) was the only attendant. Her pretty frock of biscuit lace, which showed a tight bodice and a flared skirt, was poised over pink georgette. Her hat was of crinoline straw, and she carried a posy of pink carnations and autumn leaves. Mr. J. Williamson was best man. Mrs. Conrick sang " Ave Maria" during the signing of the register.
Later a reception was held at the Ambassadors, where pale pink flowers were noticed in the delightful decorations. Mrs. Edwards received the guests in a handsome gown of ficelle georgette heavily beaded in cut-jet over which she wore a velvet wrap. Her black velvet hat was trimmed with feathers and she carried a bouquet of deep red roses.
At the wedding supper the Rev. Father Bartlett proposed the health of the bride in a charming speech. Other toasts were suitably honored.
When leaving for her honeymoon which is being spent in Melbourne the bride covered her frock with a luxurious fur coat.
There were many beautiful and costly wedding presents, for the dainty bride was one of tbe most popular members of our social set. 5
