At the time of the 1911 England Census William Newick, age 31, born in Etchingham, railway guard, was living at 124 Brompton Lane, Strood, Rochester, Kent. With him were wife of 5 years Ellen, age 27, born in Lamberhurst Sussex, and daughter Edith (3) of Gravesend Kent.

In the 1939 Register William Newick (b. 25 Jan 1880), railway guard, and wife Maria M E Newick (b . 3 Mar 1884), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 18 Dawes Street, Gillingham, Kent. At the same address was [William's daughter] Edith E Newick (b. 20 Apr 1907), single, collar machinist.
