   Another name for Albertina was Albertina DANN.

   Research Notes:

Note below that in 1871, Albertina's surname was Whitmarsh, and in 1881 it was Dann. In 1871 her father Richard Whitmarsh was present along with housekeeper Mary A. Dan. In 1881, Mary Ann Dann is shown as the mother of Albertina and her siblings. Note further that in 1881, Albertina's youngest sister was called Sally Dann. In 1891, Sarah Whitmarsh, age 15, (unmarried) was staying with Albertina and her husband Daniel.

Unable to find a marriage entry for Richard Whitmarsh, even though the Censuses indicate that he was married (seemingly to his housekeeper). All of this suggests that Albertina's parents were not officially married.

In 1871, Albertina Whitmarsh (2) of Ticehurst, was at home with father Richard Whitmarsh (35) of Brighton, married, bricklayer, houskeeper Mary A. Dan (32) of Tunbridge Wells Kent, married, brother Richard Whitmarsh (10) of Ticehurst.

In 1881, Albertina Dann (12) of Ticehurst, was at home with mother Mary Ann Dann (42) of Tunbridge Wells Kent, married, and siblings Richard Dann (21) of Ticehurst, sweep, Eleanor Dann (9), Mary Ann Dann (8), Sally Dann (5).
