In 1881 John Harding, aged 31, born in Trowbridge Wilts, baker, and wife Emma Harding, aged 30, born in Purton Wilts, were living at 5 Farnsby St., Swindon Wiltshire. Present were daughter Emily (1) of Swindon, John Harding's brother Job Harding (19) of Trowbridge, baker, and boarder Sarah Taylor (20) of Purton, seamstress.

In 1891 John Harding, aged 41, born in Trowbridge Wilts, baker, and wife Emma Harding, aged 40, born in Purton Wilts, were living at 5 Farnsby Street, Swindon. With them were sons (born in New Swindon) Gilbert T (9), scholar, and George W. (7), scholar.

In 1901 John Harding, aged 53, born in Trowbridge Wilts, baker, and wife Emma Harding, aged 50, born in Purton Wilts, were living at 5 Farnsby St., Swindon Wiltshire. With them were children (born in Swindon) Emily (21), Gilbert (19), breadmaker's apprentice, and George (17), breadmaker's apprentice.

In December 1901 John Harding was present at the marriage of his daughter Emily Jane Harding to Frederick Joseph Hopkins in Swindon Wilts.
