At the time of the 1861 England Census Ann Hampton, aged 28, born in Brighton Sussex, and husband William Hampton, aged 37, born in Lullington Sussex, farmer of 1250 acres employing 69 men and 16 boys, were living in Applesham House, Coombs Sussex. With them were children (born in Coombs): Kate (3), Chrismas (1), and infant [son]-not-baptised (1 month), visitor Alice Davey (21) of Stanmer. At the same address were William's parents John and Mary Hampton.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Ann Hampton, aged 38, born in Brighton Sussex, and husband William Hampton, aged 47, born in Lullington Sussex, farmer of 1274 acres employing 62 men and 25 boys, were living in Applesham Farm, Coombs Sussex. With them were children (born in Coombs): Kate (13), scholar, Chrismas (11), scholar, Herbert (10), scholar, Ann (7), scholar, William (6), scholar, Stanley (3), scholar, and Dudley (1). Also with them was William's mother Mary (82) of Petworth Sussex.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Ann Hampton, aged 48, born in Brighton Sussex, widow, farmer of 2300 acres, was living in Applesham House, Coombs Sussex. With her were children (born in Coombs): Chrismas (21), farmer's son, Herbert (20), farmer's son, Anne (18), farmer's daughter, William (16), farmer's son, Stanley (13), scholar, Dudley (11), scholar, and Harriet (8), scholar.

In May 1884 Ann Hampton of Applesham near Shoreham in the county of Sussex, widow, was the sole surviving executrix of the Will of her late sister Catherine Banister of London.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Ann Hampton, aged 58, born in Brighton Sussex, widow, living on her own means, was at 20 Stanford Avenue, Preston Sussex. With her were children (born in Applesham Coombs Sussex): Anne (28), Stanley (23), at present unemployed, Dudley (21), banker's clerk, and Harriett (18).

At the time of the 1901 England Census Ann Hampton, aged 68, born in Brighton Sussex, widow, own means, was living at 20 Stanford Avenue, Preston Sussex. With her were children (born in Coombs Sussex, single): Annie (37), Harriett (28), and Dudley (31), agricultural eng: driver.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Ann Hampton, aged 78, born in Brighton Sussex, widow (mother of 8 children, 2 deceased), private means, was living at 20 Stanford Avenue, Preston Sussex. With her were daughters (born in Coombs, single): Anne (47) and Harriet (37).
