Abstract of the Will of Thomas Meyricke of Plâs tan y bwlch in the County of Merioneth, Esq., written 30 Dec 1724, proved 4 Jul 1727. 3

Refers to an Indenture quadripartite dated 17 Jan 1716/7 between Robert Evans of Tanybwlch in the county of Merioneth, gent., Robert Griffith of Bach y Saint in the county of Carnarvon, gent., Catherine his wife and my now son-in-law Evan Griffith, son and heir apparent of the said Robert Griffith, himself by the name of Thomas Meyricke of Tanybwlch aforesaid, Esqr., Anne his wife, Jonet Meyricke his eldest daughter late wife of the said Evan Griffith deceased...., David Lloyd of Brithdir in county Merioneth & Lowry his wife, Margaret Evans of Dolgelley in county Merioneth, widow, of the first part, Humphrey Meredyth of Pengwern in county Carnarvon, Esqr., William Anwill of Llandeckwyn in county Merioneth, clerk, Richard Lloyd of Cefn vaes in county Merioneth, gent., of the second part, Edward Price of Dolgelley aforesaid, gent., Henry Ellis of Carnarvon in county Carnarvon, gent., of the third part, Richard Vaughan of Cors-y-godel in county Merioneth, Esqr., and Owen Wynne of Llwyn in county Denbigh, Esqr., of the fourth part, wherein a power is reserved by which it is lawful for him to act in preferment of his younger children begotten on him by Anne his wife, from the day of death of the said Margaret Evans....

Devises and bequeaths those messuages & tenements called Cadwgan to his wife Anne her heirs and assigns for the term of five hundred years in trust, such that £50 out of the rents, issues & profits of said messuages & tenements goes to his grandson Meyricke son of his daughter Margaret the wife of Thomas Lloyd Anwil gent.

Gives £840 to his daughter Anne.

Gives & devises to his wife Anne his messuages, cottages, lands & tenements in the parishes of Llanykil, Dolgelley & Trawsfynydd in the county of Merioneth.

All his estate mortgaged to him by William Francis of Bala in the county of Merioneth and Hugh Francis his heir apparent, Maurice Lloyd of Llwyn Cwm? gent. and Maurice Lloyd of Llangelynin in county Merioneth, gent., he gives & devises the same to his grandson Robert Griffith and his heirs, the son of his son-in-law Evan Griffith and his daughter Jonet his late wife. And in default of such issue his capital messuage, lands and tenements known as Berthlwyd in the parish of Llanelltyd to his right heirs.

Gives & bequeaths £100 to his daughter Anne Meyricke out of the various messuages, lands and tenements he holds in the parish of Llanelltyd.

Gives & devises his other messuages and tenements with their respective lands in the parishes of Llanvachreth, Llanelltyd and Llanaber to his daughter Anne Meyricke and his daughter Margaret the wife of his son-in-law Thomas Lloyd Anwil.

Constitutes, nominates & appoints his wife Anne as the sole executrix and residuary legatee of his last will and testament.
