DEATH OF THE VICAR OF CADOXTON, NEATH.
The Rev. Lewis Jones, Cadoxton (Neath), died this morning at the Vicarage, Cadoxton, at the age of 63. The deceased clergyman was ordained in 1861, and was in that year appointed curate of Dolgelly, where he remained until 1866. From 1864 to 1866 he was Diocesan Inspector of Schools in the Diocese of Bangor. From 1872 he was perpetual curate of Llanelltyd in the Diocese of Bangor, and for this latter period he was also minor canon of Bangor. In 1872 he was appointed Rector of Dowlais whence he removed to Cadoxton in 1876. The Rev. Lewis was much beloved by his parishoners for whose highest welfare he always showed the deepest solicitude. For some years he had suffered enfeebled health, but it was only recently that he and his relatives became aware that he was stricken with that dread malady cancer of the liver. He has left a widow and five daughters and one son. The son is in her Majesty's navy. The living of Cadoxton is in the gift of Mr H. N. Miers, formerly of Tnispenllweh.
